A 17-year-old from Tennessee was killed Monday while riding on an inflatable tube pulled by a jet ski on the Elk River.

The teen fell from the tube and was hit by another jet ski, investigators said. The teen was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's (ALEA) Marine Patrol Division said a 48-year-old man from Tennessee was operating the jet ski that hit the teen. Another 17-year-old from Tennessee was operating the jet ski that was pulling the inner tube.

The accident occurred near Wheeler Lake in Limestone County.
