Lifelong Baldwin County resident and insurance agent State Rep. Frances Holk-Jones (R-Foley) will likely keep her seat after winning the Alabama House District 95 GOP primary runoff Tuesday, according to preliminary election results.

According to the tally obtained by 1819 News, Holk-Jones had 52.3% of the vote over challenger Joe Freeman, a margin of 3,091 to 2,811.

"Thank you District 95!" Holk-Jones posted while celebrating at a watch party Tuesday evening. "YOU did it!"

Election results will be certified next week.

Holk-Jones will be on the November general election ballot, where she will not have a Democratic opponent.

House District 95 represents all or portions of Foley, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Elberta, Perdido Beach and the unincorporated communities of Bon Secour, Miflin, Fort Morgan, Josephine and Ono Island.
