Alabama's congressional delegation promptly took to social media on Saturday following an apparent assassination attempt on President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner.
The president was reportedly rushed from the Washington Hilton after shots were reported at the event. The suspect was identified as Cole Tomas Allen, 31, of Torrance, Calif.
The most forceful of the responses came from U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), who called the suspect a "lunatic," adding that "demonization of the President and Republicans needs to end."
A lunatic just tried to take out President Trump AGAIN.

Very grateful that the President and all those at the White House Correspondents Dinner are safe, and that there are no reported injuries.

Considering this is the third attempt on the President’s life, last year’s assassination of Charlie Kirk, and the 2017…
Join Heather and I in praying for @POTUS, @VP, and everyone that was in attendance at the White House Correspondents Dinner tonight.

Still learning details of what happened tonight, but grateful to hear early reports that all of those in attendance at the White House Correspondents' Dinner are safe. There should never be a place in politics or otherwise for these types of acts of violence.
