New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's decision to have his oath of office administered using a Quran is an ominous sign, according to U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn).

Tuberville, a Republican candidate for governor, posted a warning next to an image of a report from The New York Times about Mamdani's use of the Islamic text for his swearing-in ceremony.

"The enemy is inside the gates," Tuberville posted to his campaign X account.

Shortly after midnight in New York City, New York State Attorney General Letitia James administered the oath to Mamdani.
