ORANGE BEACH — The 2023 Blue Marlin Grand Championship is underway off the Alabama Gulf Coast.

On Thursday morning, 57 boats launched for what has been dubbed "The Greatest Show in Sportfishing."

There will be weigh-in events at The Wharf Marina on Friday and Saturday.  

The 2022 grand champion team "It Just Takes Time" is in the tournament again this year, vying to be the first team ever to win the grand championship twice. "It Just Takes Time" won with angler Nick "Lil' Miami" Crovato catching a 568.4-pound marlin last year with Captain Chris Hood.

Schedule of Events:

FRIDAY

  • 7 a.m. - 8 a.m.: Early Bird Tournament Weigh-In

  • 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.: Tournament Weigh-In - hosted by Jim Cox and Kelly Finley.

SATURDAY

  • 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.: Tournament Weigh-In - The Greatest Show in Sportfishing hosted by Jim Cox and Kelly Finley.

SUNDAY

  • 9 a.m.: Tournament Awards Breakfast Presented by Saunders Yachtworks and the announcement of Gulf Coast Triple Crown Championship Winner Presented by Grander Marine at the Orange Beach Event Center.
