In 2025, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) recognized a dozen Alabamians for their distinguished military service and significant contributions to local communities.
The lawmaker's annual "Veteran of the Month" series, which spotlights former service members from across the Yellowhammer State, first began in 2023 as an initiative from Tuberville to demonstrate his appreciation for Alabama's veterans.
"Alabama is home to more than 400,000 veterans who bravely answered the call to defend our country," Tuberville said. "Even though they're no longer in uniform, they still serve our local communities in remarkable ways. I've enjoyed listening to the unique ways that Alabama's veterans are giving back to their communities. Their efforts make our state a better place to call home."
"I look forward to continuing to share the stories of Alabama's heroes in the upcoming year and hope all Alabamians will join me in continuing to show our appreciation for their sacrifice," he added.

- January: Heath Drake of Leeds, Alabama
