Veterans in Baldwin County are invited to come out to the John F. Rhodes Civic Center in Bay Minette on Friday for a job expo.

Companies represented at the expo will include Airbus, Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC), Baldwin County Commission, Baldwin EMC, Coca-Cola, Daphne Police Department, PCH Resorts, Pepsi Bottling Co., Riviera Utilities, Southern Company, Thompson Tractor, Vulcan, Walmart and more.

Baldwin County GOP chairman Patrick McWilliams is himself a veteran. He told 1819 News it's great to see a job expo for veterans who often need help after transitioning to civilian life.

"I think it's fantastic," McWilliams said. "I really would like to see more organizations across Coastal Alabama do this for veterans. We do have a significant veteran population down here in Baldwin and Mobile counties."

McWilliams said there is no lack of jobs or veterans to fill those jobs.

"There's never going to be a work ethic like a veteran's work ethic," he added. "You pay them a fair wage and they are going to get the job done."

Applicants should come prepared to interview for jobs.

The Bay Minette Career Center is partnering with the Baldwin County Chamber of Commerce to make the job expo possible.

The expo will be from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the John F. Rhodes Civic Center in Bay Minette.
