During a Monday interview on Fox News Channel's "The Faulkner Focus," U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) called out the Democrat Party's leadership amid the numerous scandals surrounding Graham Platner, the presumptive Maine Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate.
Platner sports a now-covered-up Nazi tattoo and reportedly sent explicit messages to at least six women despite being married.
According to Tuberville, the Democrats' support of Platner and the last presidential election shows the party lacks legitimate candidates because of the shift towards socialism.
"They don't have anybody to run," Tuberville declared. "I mean, just look at the presidential candidates. There is nobody out there that's any kind of leader in the Democrat Party. And they aren't Democrats anymore. They are all socialists. They have changed. Even the ones that used to be Democrats that believed in this country, the way it is, capitalism, you know, they aren't there anymore. They are gone. And so, this is a new group of people coming in that is absolutely going to destroy their party."
He added, "Democrats just lie when the truth is better. They will not tell the truth about anything. When you get out there and talk about, hey, men can have babies, and the border is closed, and we knew it wasn't for four years, they stood behind that nonsense. ... They start believing their own lies. It is just unfortunate. They have lost the moral Christian values of this country on the Democratic side. You never hear them talk about God or anything to do with Christianity."
