A 1,400-page bill released Tuesday would avoid a partial federal government shutdown before lawmakers head home to their districts for Christmas.
According to CBS, the bill includes disaster aid, economic assistance for farmers, an administrative transfer of RFK Memorial Stadium to Washington, D.C., and a pay raise for lawmakers.
President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance said on Wednesday they opposed the measure supported by House Republican leadership.
At least two members of Alabama's congressional delegation agree.
U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) told 1819 News, "This 1,500+ page monstrosity of a CR is slam full of wasteful spending and is a bad deal for the American people."
U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) said he opposed the continuing resolution on Wednesday.
.@elonmusk is right -the CR is a bloated omnibus masquerading as a short-term funding measure. I'm a NO.

I support aid for our producers, but I won't vote for legislation that funds $100+ billion in woke, weaponized and wasteful items at the expense of American taxpayers.
U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, told CNN on Wednesday that passing a bill before the deadline would be "very difficult."
U.S. Reps. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover), Dale Strong (R-Monrovia), Mike Rogers (R-Saks) and Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham) have not spoken publicly about the legislation panned by Trump, Vance and other conservatives.
