The Thomasville Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its own in a car crash early Wednesday.
Dallas Hinton, 25, was involved in an accident with a log truck at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Highway 43.
Thomasville Fire and the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office responded. Hinton was pronounced dead on the scene.
“Officer Hinton leaves behind a fiancé, two sisters, a father and many fellow brothers and sisters in law enforcement,” Police chief Mitchell Stuckey stated. “He will be greatly missed by all. Please keep the Hunton family and your local law enforcement officers in your prayers as we all mourn this tragic loss. During these challenging times we all should be reminded of how short life can be and how important our relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is!”
The City confirmed Hinton had worked with the Thomasville Police Department for approximately two years after serving as a U.S. Marine.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating.
