The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is short three patrol deputies this week after they resigned, Sheriff Jay Jones confirmed to 1819 News.
“I can confirm that three of our patrol division deputies are no longer employed with our office after tendering resignations because of agency policy and procedure violations,” the sheriff said in response to a media inquiry into the matter.
Jones did not provide details on what procedures were violated.
He said there is not an investigation in progress into the matter and no charges are pending.
