As Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is poised to join the upcoming Trump administration, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) joined U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) in forming the Congressional Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Caucus.
Although RFK has been met with significant backlash from some after Trump tapped him to serve as the next secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), many Republican lawmakers are excited about the prospect. While RFK has no formal experience in public health, he has been a lifelong advocate for environmental causes and improving Americans' overall health. Left-leaning opponents of RFK often point to his skepticism over vaccines, while conservatives have expressed concern over his previous stances on abortion.
Tuberville and U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) seemed content with his stance on abortion aligning with those of Trump and have both endorsed him for HHS secretary.

In preparation for RFK's presumed Senate confirmation, Tuberville, a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, and Marshall are forming the brand new MAHA Caucus to focus on nutrition, access to affordable, high-quality, nutrient-dense foods, creating healthcare transparency, and addressing the root causes of chronic diseases.
RFK has reportedly endorsed the creation of the new caucus and has met with Tuberville to discuss harmful chemicals in the American food industry and the importance of bringing transparency to vaccines and health care.
"Earlier this week, I met with RFK Jr., President Trump's nominee to lead the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services," Tuberville said. "Like I told him, I've heard from young people across the country who are inspired by his message to Make America Healthy Again. During our meeting, Bobby and I had a great discussion about ways to make our food and health care system better. As a founding member of the Senate Make America Healthy Again Caucus, I look forward to working with my friend Senator Roger Marshall and our colleagues to make sure our food is safe, bring transparency to vaccines and health care, and Make America Healthy Again."
Tuberville and Marshall joined U.S. Sens. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) as founding members of the MAHA Caucus.
