In her bid to become Alabama’s next attorney general, Katherine Robertson has now secured the endorsement of Madison County Sheriff Kevin Turner.
Turner, who has been in law enforcement since 1992, praised the candidate’s “tough on crime” approach and experience in the attorney general's office, where she has served as chief counsel.
“It is an honor to announce my endorsement of Katherine Robertson for Attorney General. I have personally known and worked with Katherine over the years and I know she will do a great job as our next Attorney General. She is tough on crime and will put her experience to work for our great state," Turner said in a statement.
Robertson thanked Turner for the show of support, calling him a “steadfast leader in law enforcement for decades.”
"I am deeply grateful to Sheriff Kevin Turner for his endorsement and for his unwavering leadership and dedication to the people of Madison County," said Robertson. "Sheriff Turner has been a steadfast leader in law enforcement for decades, and his support means a tremendous amount to me.”
She added, “Together, we will continue the fight to make Alabama the safest state in the nation by putting tough, experienced leadership at the helm of the Attorney General's Office."
Turner’s endorsement adds to Robertson's already extensive coalition of statewide law enforcement support.
