The Troy baseball team's postseason run came to an end on Tuesday in Omaha, as the Trojans fell to West Virginia, 12-0, in an elimination game.

Troy held West Virginia close in its rematch, with both teams facing elimination, for 5 innings, but the Mountaineers' depth proved too much for the Trojans. Up 2-0 in the 6th inning, the Mountaineers scored 4 runs. They then added another in the 7th before piling on for 5 more runs in the 9th.

The Trojans took down the national No. 8 seed Florida in the Gainesville Regional and then hosted their first-ever Super Regional, in which they swept Little Rock to advance to the program's first-ever College World Series in Omaha.

Troy became just the third Sun Belt Conference team to reach the College World Series, joining 2000 Louisiana and 2025 Coastal Carolina.

In Omaha, Troy fell to West Virginia 7-5, eliminated Ole Miss with a 12-8 win to secure its first College World Series victory and then lost to West Virginia 12-0.
