President Donald Trump nominated Randall Jones, a Guntersville insurance agency co-owner, to the board of directors of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) on Tuesday.

Jones still has to be confirmed by the Senate. His term expires on May 18, 2028.

Trump also nominated Tennessee residents Lee Beaman, Mitch Graves and Jeff Hagood to the board on Tuesday.

Trump previously removed two board members in the first few months of his second term. The TVA has been a source of controversy in North Alabama for its closing of the Bellefonte Plant in Jackson County and rolling blackouts during Christmas 2022.
