U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) said Americans are "scared to death" of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), but they won't have to be for much longer.

On Monday, Tuberville appeared on Fox Business Network's "The Evening Edit," explaining how President-elect Donald Trump and his cabinet will get the agency back on track.

"Fake Bureau of Investigation… We're going to have a new one. [FBI Director] Christopher Ray will be gone," Tuberville said.

Tuberville said Kash Patel, as the new FBI director under Trump and Pam Bondi as Attorney General, the FBI will start going after actual criminals who deserve justice instead of harassing everyday Americans.

"Kash Patel will be in. Pam Bondi is good friends with Kash Patel. They will work very well together," Tuberville said. "The American people are scared to death of the FBI. They've been weaponized. They've been going after people. Not just President Trump but a lot of his friends, as a matter of fact, and pushing people to the limit. They have done things by going into homes at 6 in the morning, waking people up. It's absolutely amazing what they've done, and they're dead wrong about it, and Christopher Ray will be gone. He'll actually get out himself, and we'll have a new FBI director here soon."
