The FBI is investigating a series of threats made against nearly a dozen prominent members of President-elect Donald Trump's incoming cabinet.

Per a statement released Wednesday by the Trump-Vance transition team, the attacks ranged from bomb threats to swatting, a term used to describe the act of falsely reporting a dangerous situation to police with the expectation that some harm will come from the target when law enforcement responds.

Law enforcement did not reveal specifically who had been threatened. However, both Brooke Rollins, who Trump has tapped to be secretary of agriculture, and Lee Zeldin, Trump's nominee to be administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, publicly announced themselves as targets.

No arrests have been made so far, and all of the threats' targets are safe and uninjured.

Lawmakers and political commentators have denounced the threats and political violence in general.

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) said they were "dangerous and completely unacceptable."

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) called the threats "abhorrent," giving thanks that nobody had been harmed.

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) praised law enforcement for their swift action.
