During an interview that aired Wednesday on "The Benny Show," U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) was asked what his message as governor would be to Democrats seeking to flee blue states like California and New York to make Alabama home.

The Alabama GOP gubernatorial frontrunner warned those seeking to come to Alabama not to "be expecting a free lunch." He added they would not be welcomed in Alabama if they intend to "bring that Communist, Islamic atmosphere" with them.

"Well, don't be expecting a free lunch, I promise you," Tuberville emphasized. "Bring your lunch with you because you're not going to be welcomed if you're going to bring that Communist, Islamic atmosphere with you. We're not going to deal with it, I'm telling you right now. It's not going to happen in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee — it's not going to happen. But they're going to try to make it happen. They're going to try to overwhelm us."

Tuberville then pointed to former President Joe Biden bringing in almost 200,000 Afghan refugees following the botched Afghanistan withdrawal.

"We have got to fight back," he declared.
