Wednesday, during an appearance on Fox Business Network's "Kudlow," U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) reacted to the U.S. Senate's 52-47 vote not to advance the war powers resolution.
According to Tuberville, the vote showed Democrats had two objectives: protect terrorists and protect illegals.
"Well, Larry, here is the power that we have in Congress: If you don't want to fight a war, don't fight the president at the beginning," he said. "Just don't fund it at the end. We need more funding — don't fund it. That is the end of the day. We're going to fund it, but the Democrats, you know, their platform this year, going into midterms, is protect all terrorists and protect all illegals. That is two things they're common about, and it is going to get them beat. It's amazing to me that we see something like this happening — people who are supposedly watching out for the American people are not watching out for the American people. They are watching out for people who are illegals, people who live in sanctuary cities, people that are terrorists. It is beyond my comprehension."
