U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) recently doubled down on his support for Trump cabinet picks Pete Hegseth and Kashyap "Kash" Patel, saying they were "the answer" to saving America's military and justice system.

On Monday, Tuberville appeared on Newsmax's "Rob Schmitt Tonight" to explain why he’ll be voting to confirm Hegseth as Secretary of Defense and Patel as FBI director and how the corporate media will stop at nothing to thwart them and Trump's other cabinet picks.

“We need drastic change. And President Trump wants to change it all. This will be our last chance,” Tuberville said.

He said he liked Hegseth because of his age at 44, his combat experience, his communication skills and his patriotic drive to root out woke ideology and return the U.S. military to its prime directive.

“Pete Hegseth will do the job. He understands it. Twenty-year warfighter. Business guy. Well-educated. He’s not a general, and I love that. We need a drill sergeant. We don’t need a general to run the DoD from now on,” Tuberville continued.

Part of Hegseth’s first order of duty will be to undo the racial quotes, DEI policies and transgender accommodations of the Biden administration, which Tuberville said were designed to “destroy" the military "from within”

“Your number one job is to protect the United States of America and its allies from foreign competition. And so we've gotten way away from that,” he said. “Everything has to do with diversity and inclusion, equity, the things that need nothing to do with the military. So, at the end of the day, this will be Pete Hegseth's orders from President Trump… He is the perfect person to communicate with the warfighters that we have in this generation.”

Since his nomination to the position, Democrats and the members of the corporate media have tried to discredit Hegseth. Tuberville said that is what the recent allegations of sexual assault were all about, much like what was done to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearing.

“This media is going to try to destroy Pete Hegseth. It’s going to try to destroy him. And just like as you said, Kavanaugh, they're going to try to destroy Kash Patel,” Tuberville said. “They're going to do everything they possibly can because they know that Kash Patel and Pete Hegseth are the answer to the problems that we have in Washington, D.C. when it comes to the military and the Department of Justice.”
