President Donald Trump will surpass 100 days in office this week, a milestone at which presidents are typically evaluated for their accomplishments and the implementation of their agenda.
While some Republicans wish he had done more, and Democrats criticize nearly everything he has accomplished, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) gave Trump top marks for his performance in office so far.
"A+," Tuberville said Monday on FOX Business Network's "Kudlow." "What else can he do, Larry? They [Democrats] left a total mess."
"I was up here for four years of Joe Biden. They did not do one thing for the American people or for this country. They actually tried to destroy it, and everything went down. Now, President Trump's got foreign wars, he's got deportations, the border, the tax cuts, trying to save the economy. What a total disaster the Democrats created… They don't know how to fix anything, so they're trying to create problems."
Tuberville said Trump needed to continue aggressively pursuing his agenda, particularly on tariffs and immigration, or else miss the short window to get the nation back on track before Democrats potentially retake control.
"Everybody wants to have their say about this, but at the end of the day, the American people sent us up here with some power. Get it done. And if we don't, the football is going to go to the other side. The Democrats will totally destroy this country."
