During an appearance on a recent broadcast of Newsmax TV's "The Briefing," U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) seemed to suggest President Donald Trump was on the verge of a strike on Iran.

Tuberville told Newsmax's Ed Henry that if Trump said he would do something, he would do it, and suggested viewers "get ready."

"Well, President Trump has read them the riot act, and they're killing their own people over there," he explained. "You know, the people behind the scenes, the Ayatollah, you know, the militia over there is killing thousands of people. President Trump is trying to stop that, but he's also trying to stop getting back in the business of the nuclear arsenal that they had before we blew it up last time. He said the Armada is on the way."

Tuberville added, "You better trust him, folks. All you have to do is look at what he's done in the last year. If he tells you something, he's going to do it. So get ready. Marco Rubio has done a great job over there, along with some other people. But President Trump is right on the money here. We have to make sure Iran does not get a nuclear weapon.
