In a Thursday interview with the "Breitbart News Daily Podcast," U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) previewed what would be different with him as governor than with sitting Gov. Kay Ivey.
Tuberville, who announced earlier this year that he would be running for governor instead of seeking re-election to the U.S. Senate, said the significant difference would be President Donald Trump sending more power and money to the states. He added that, like Trump, he would not hesitate to deploy the National Guard to Alabama cities with crime problems.

"Well, things are going to change," Tuberville replied when asked about what would change under his regime. "And they're going to change for one reason. His name is Donald J. Trump. As I talked to the President when I told him, Mr. President, I'm thinking about running for governor. He said, 'Well, you know, I'm sending the power and the money back to the States.' That's the way it should be. You should run your own state. You have your own culture, your own boundaries, the people that you know. You'll have more rural people than urban people. So, I'm going to do that. And that's the reason I'm doing this."
"And so he is going to relinquish a lot of things that will be turned back to the governors that they'll have more power on. And so, that's the way this country was built. It wasn't built with a bloated federal government that overspends everything, steals, cheats, lies and makes the states suffer. So I'm glad President Trump is doing this. I'm glad he's sending out National Guard to a lot of these cities and these urban cities that can't control their own people and get some sense of reality back in our country."
"But, I plan on going back and doing the same thing," he concluded. "If we need to take over our streets with National Guard, we'll do it.”
