U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) raised just over $1 million in January in his campaign to be Alabama's next governor.
According to his campaign, Tuberville held the largest Republican fundraiser in the history of Mobile, which brought in more than $700,000.
According to a January campaign finance filing on Tuesday, Tuberville has a cash-on-hand balance of $7,483,958.74.
"Coach Tuberville is on track to shatter every fundraising record in Alabama," said Jackie Curtiss, Tuberville's fundraiser. "I've been fundraising for more than a decade in Alabama, and I've never seen the level of enthusiasm and financial commitment as we are seeing for Coach. But we aren't getting too comfortable. Coach wants to run like he's 10 points behind. We're going to continue building on his incredible momentum until we cross the finish line in November."
