Despite recent legal setbacks and the best efforts of left-wing officials, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) said President Donald Trump won’t be deterred from restoring law and order to Democrat strongholds.
A federal judge recently blocked Trump’s attempt to send National Guard troops to Portland, Oregon, and Illinois filed a lawsuit against the administration to keep troops out of crime-ridden Chicago.
On Monday’s episode of “Bannon’s War Room,” Tuberville said Trump would do whatever it takes to protect U.S. citizens.
“At the end of the day, the judges, these governors, they will not let Donald Trump do his job. And they’re trying to get in his way. They’re trying to stop him. Slow him down. Do anything they possibly can,” Tuberville said. “It’s not going to work. President Trump is going to do what he knows is best for the American people.”
When asked if Trump should invoke the Insurrection Act to federalize troops to send into cities like Portland and Chicago if the courts continued to block his efforts, Tuberville said, “Do what you think is right.”
“Use common sense, and President Trump has got a lot of that,” he continued. “And he is going to take care of the American people. Whether you're a Democrat, whether you're a Republican, whether you're a Communist, if you’re in this country as a citizen, he’s going to take care of you. He’s going to protect you. That is his job.”
Tuberville said Alabama had its “own problems” with crime, referencing the recent shootout in Montgomery that left two dead and 12 injured.

He added, “If [Trump] sees that law enforcement can’t handle the problem, he’s going to give them more help through the National Guard. That’s his prerogative, and he has the ability to do it.”
