On Tuesday, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) met with President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for Secretary of Veterans Affairs (VA), former U.S. Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.).
Per Tuberville's office, the two discussed streamlining and cutting regulations in the VA to ensure every veteran gets the best care possible.
After the meeting, Tuberville voiced his support for Collins as the VA head and their priorities to improve the department.
“Congressman Doug Collins is a proven leader and veteran who has constantly advocated for our service members throughout his career," Tuberville declared. "We met to discuss my priorities for the VA, including access to timely and quality care, reducing veteran suicide, and removing DEI and anti-life policies from the agency.”
