U.S. Sen Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) recently condemned the Wednesday night murder of two Israeli embassy employees who were shot dead in Washington, D.C., blaming Democrats for their anti-Israeli messaging.
The shooting took place on the street outside the Capital Jewish Museum, where the victims, Sarah Milgrim, 26, and Yaron Lischinsky, 30, were just leaving a reception for young diplomats late Wednesday evening.
Law enforcement arrested a suspect, Elias Rodriguez, 31, on Thursday, claiming Rodriguez confessed to the crime, allegedly saying, "I did it for Palestine, I did it for Gaza."
Tuberville was forced to forgo his regular weekly conference call with Alabama reporters on Thursday. However, he released a video statement condemning the killings and blaming Democratic rhetoric since the escalation of hostilities between Israel and the Palestinians living in Gaza since the terror attacks of Oct. 7, 2023.
"I want to begin today by extending my condolences to the two Israeli embassy staffers who were tragically murdered by a terrorist in our nation's capital just last night," Tuberville said. "For the past four years, radical Democrats have chanted 'Free Palestine' and stood by as antisemitism took over our woke college campuses. Democrats own this 100%, and their talk is cheap."
"Thank God for President Trump, who has zero tolerance for antisemitism or terrorism in this country. Terrorists chant, 'death to America. Under the Trump administration, we say, 'death to terrorism."
