MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. — U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) said “we won’t get involved” in a debate over whether the Department of Justice should release more files relating to the activities of the late Jeffrey Epstein.

Some in Trump’s base have criticized the Trump administration for not releasing more information about the alleged wrongdoings of Epstein. Epstein was arrested in 2019 for the sex trafficking of minors. Some have alleged he had connections to one or more intelligence agencies.

Trump has defended his administration’s focus on other issues, saying “selfish people are trying to hurt” his administration over “a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein.”

Tuberville said in an interview with 1819 News on Monday after speaking to the Alabama Grocers Association, “We’ve got a lot more problems than that.”

“That’s been talked about so much that it’s kind of made it a huge issue and it is to a lot of people because, you know, child predators and all those things. Hopefully, eventually this will all be worked out but we won’t get involved in it. We’ve got so much to do with those bills coming up. We’ve only got three-and-a-half years,” he added.
