On Saturday, a gunman opened fire in a Brown University engineering building, killing two and injuring nine others.
A suspect was taken into custody on Sunday morning, and witnesses reported that the gunman "yelled something" before opening fire in a classroom. Providence Police Department officials have yet to release any details on the suspected shooter.
U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) reacted to the report of the gunman reportedly yelling something before shooting, saying on X, "We all know what he yelled."
He went on to continue his push to put a stop to the rise of radical Islam in the United States.
"The Islamic Death Cult is INCOMPATIBLE with America," he added.
On his campaign for governor account, Tuberville further railed against Islam as a "cult," warning that with inaction, the United States of America would "become the United Caliphate of America."
"Islam is not a religion. It's a cult," he proclaimed. "Islamists aren't here to assimilate. They're here to conquer. Stop worrying about offending the pearl clutchers. We've got to SEND THEM HOME NOW or we'll become the United Caliphate of America."
In October, Tuberville introduced the No Sharia Act, which would prohibit the application of Sharia law in the United States, where it would violate constitutional rights. He also introduced the Sharia Free America Act to prevent all foreign nationals supporting Sharia law from entering the United States.
