A recently released government funding bill is filled with too much frivolous spending, according to U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn).

The bill would avoid a partial federal government shutdown before lawmakers head home to their districts for Christmas. The bill is 1,400 pages and was released on Tuesday. According to CBS, the bill includes disaster aid, economic assistance for farmers, an administrative transfer of RFK Memorial Stadium to Washington, D.C., and a pay raise for lawmakers.

Tuberville said in an interview on Fox Business Network's "Mornings with Maria" on Wednesday, “Merry Christmas, American taxpayer. We’re going to buy you a new Corvette. Now, you can’t pay for it for 100 years, but we’re going to buy you a Corvette.”

“It’s absolutely ridiculous what we’re doing here. We should get a clean CR. Mike Johnson promised that,” he added. “The two things that we really need though, is we need help for American farmers because the Farm Bill’s been kicked down the road for two years. Maria, we’re going to lose 50,000 farms in the next probably six months. 50,000 more, and we lost 150,000 in the last three or four years. And of course, the disaster aid for North Carolina. The Biden administration’s absolutely has dropped the ball on this, but to go out building stadiums in D.C.? Hell, they can’t even cut the grass in the medians up here.”
