As left-leaning and establishment types within the D.C. power structure continue to rail against President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to run the FBI, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is focusing his attention on what he believes to be significant misconduct on the part of the “Fake Bureau of Investigation” for years.
In what could be construed as transparently self-serving, many in American politics continue to buck against Trump’s appointment of Kashyap "Kash" Patel as the next FBI director.
Patel worked extensively with the Trump administration after the 2016 election to uncover alleged misconduct in the FBI and DOJ in targeting key members of the Trump campaign. He has since been on the warpath against the so-called deep state in Washington, D.C., a pejorative term meant to denote participation in a behind-the-scenes bureaucracy that turns the wheels of power in D.C.

In a recent appearance on Fox Business Network’s “Kudlow,” Tuberville doubled down on his support for Patel, echoing the nominee’s concerns with corruption and weaponization within the FBI.
“We're not going listen to the Fake Bureau of Investigation," he declared. "They've been off the rails now for the last four or five years. We need to make sure we do our own due diligence, and we're doing that. We're not going to listen to a bunch of people that are going to go after political appointees or former presidents and raid people's homes, try to put people in jail. It is ridiculous.”
“Kash Patel will be an excellent FBI director," Tuberville continued. "He's the type of person that we need, Larry. Larry, if you look at all the appointees, most of the people are younger. They're diverse. President Trump knows exactly what he's doing. He's going to need these people who'll be working 15, 16, 17 hours a day, if not more. And these are the type of people that he's picking because we got a lot of hard work to do and a lot of hills to overcome.”
