On Thursday, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) called out the Democrats for the chaos in Minnesota with immigration raids, saying they could have "stopped it" by now.

During an interview with FM Talk 1065's "Mobile Mornings," Tuberville lamented that two people, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, had been killed while protesting the ICE raids in Minnesota, but questioned why the Democrats refused to work with President Donald Trump.

"President Trump showed his leadership this week by calling the governor, calling the mayor, trying to work out a deal," Tuberville stated. "He talks to them on the phone, he feels like it's a good conversation, and then they turn around and say oh we're not going to work with federal law enforcement agents. I mean, they hate law and order. That's the Democratic Party. They do not want anybody put in jail because that's their voters. They have to save their voting base."

He continued, "At the end of the day, President Trump is doing the right thing. It's very unfortunate that people lost their lives. But I've told some of my Democratic colleagues up here, 'We had recess last week. Why didn't y'all go to Minnesota and try to help out in the situation, try to get some common sense back into the governor and the mayor up there? Ninety-eight percent of the country is working with ICE. Only Minnesota is really fighting back. Everything is working quite well, but of course, the propaganda and the mainstream media is going to push this narrative in Minnesota like it's the end of the world, in which it was the end of the life for two people. Very unfortunate, but it could have been stopped and could have been averted had we had better leadership from local, state and federal government officials on the Democratic side because they're pushing this narrative."
