During an interview that aired Sunday on New York City radio WABC 77's "The Roger Stone Show," U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) criticized the Democratic presidential ticket for the November 5 general election.
Tuberville told Stone, a former Nixon campaign operative and Trump ally, that he considered the Kamala Harris-Tim Walz presidential pairing the worst possible selection for Democrats. Alabama's senior U.S. Senator also said that should the Democrats win the White House, former President Barack Obama, along with former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), would be "calling the shots."
"Well, Roger, I've dealt now for four years with senators and House members up in Washington D.C.," he said. "And I don't think they could have picked two worse candidates or two probable, possibly, vice president or presidential electors. I don't think they could have picked any worse. I mean, these two, I mean, you just — I talk to people all the time, you know, Democrats, you know, while I'm on the Senate floor. And there are so many of them up there that would be much better than these two. I don't know who made the decision to pick these people. Neither one of them are qualified to run our country. Our country right now is in huge trouble. And they've created most of this. Kamala Harris has. And then Tim Walz, being the governor of Minnesota, was an absolute disaster back during the Black Lives Matter burning of the streets and the buildings back in, what was that, 2019, 2020. So these people, again, should have been much more vetted."
"But again, I think at the end of the day, Barack Obama knows that he's going to be calling the shots, along with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer," Tuberville continued. "They just picked two people they thought that they could just get elected and then control. I mean, that's what they've done with Biden and Harris these last four years. So it's just a shame what the American people are having to go through during this election. Hopefully we can get it over with here in about two and a half weeks — get President Trump and JD Vance, who is a great senator and will be a great vice president along with President Trump."
