On Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) sounded the alarm over possible Iranian "sleeper cells" waiting to be activated in the states during the ongoing war between the United States and Iran.
Tuberville told Mobile radio FM Talk 106.5's "The Jeff Poor Show" that sleeper cells had entered the United States during the Obama and Biden administrations, which he noted had laxer border laws than the current Trump administration. He warned that there were "maniacs" waiting for the word to carry out an attack on the United States.
"During this war, during this very tough time, we have sleeper cells, Jeff, for everybody listening, all over this country, that were let in by Barack Obama and Joe Biden," Tuberville told host Jeff Poor. "And they're just sitting back waiting. Be careful what you do, where you are. Keep your eyes open. Don't think that this is America 15-20 years ago. It is not. This has been caused by the Democrats, and these maniacs are just waiting around, waiting for the word to do something in our country. We've had, what, four or five just in the last week or two, and you don't hear much about them because the mainstream media is not going to bring them up, but we've got to really be aware that this is not the country that our forefathers gave us."
"We've unfortunately given it to a lot of people that don't want to be here for the same reason we are here: to have a great moral country," he added.
Tuberville has been calling attention to radical Islamists in the United States, declaring earlier this week, "The enemy is inside the gates."
