A Tuscaloosa teenager is dead after an accidental shooting on New Year’s Day.
Tuscaloosa Police were called to the scene in McKenzie Court apartments at 6:30 p.m.
ABC 33/40 reported that the 15-year-old accidentally shot himself while playing with the gun. The child has not been identified by authorities.
It is unclear who the firearm belongs to. However, the facts of the case will be presented to the Tuscaloosa County District Attorney’s Office to determine if charges will be filed.
