Stan Pate, a well-known Tuscaloosa businessman, says he is willing to give President Donald Trump parts of the border wall he purchased last year.
The Biden administration sold off the materials at auction last October. Pate was able to purchase several pieces and used them as a prop to collect donations for Hurricane Helene relief.
Since the relief drive, Pate has kept the wall panels in storage. When asked if he would be willing to sell the pieces back now that Trump is once again in office, he said he would do more than that.
“I could be convinced to give it to President Trump as an inaugural gift if he wanted it,” said Pate. “It would be a gift based on his successful campaign.”
Pate said he is proud to own a piece of history and wants to keep at least one piece himself. However, if it can’t be used for the border wall, he suggested Trump use it at Mar-a-Lago or for the future Trump Library.
