Tuskegee mayor Lawrence “Tony” Haygood was beaten by challenger Frank “Chris” Lee in the municipal runoff election on Tuesday.
Lee secured 1,002 votes, or 52%. Haygood had 929 votes.
Haywood was first elected mayor in 2016.
Lee has served on the city council for 13 years.
