Thursday night saw two Alabama players taken in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Kadyn Proctor’s selection by the Miami Dolphins with the No. 12 pick extended Alabama’s streak to 18 straight years with at least one player selected in the first round.

Kadyn Proctor - Tackle

Kadyn Proctor became the first Alabama player off the board when he was selected No. 12 by the Miami Dolphins during Thursday’s draft. Proctor was the third tackle selected in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Proctor was a three-year starter for the Crimson Tide at left tackle and started every game he appeared in over his career. In 2025, he started all 15 games and only surrendered two sacks all season. Proctor was Alabama’s lone consensus All-American in 2025 and was a co-recipient of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, which is awarded to the SEC’s best offensive lineman.

Ty Simpson - Quarterback

Ty Simpson became the second Alabama player to be taken off the board when he was selected right after his teammate with the No. 13 pick by the Los Angeles Rams. Simpson extended the streak of consecutive starting Alabama quarterbacks to be taken in the first two days of the draft to six.

During his lone season as a starter for Alabama, Simpson demonstrated efficiency and production, completing 64.5% of his passes 305-of-473 for 3,567 yards, 28 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. These marks placed him second among SEC quarterbacks in both total passing yards and touchdowns. As a dual-threat asset, he also contributed on the ground with 90 carries for 93 yards and two scores, maintaining an average of six rushing attempts per game.

Rounds two and three of the draft will be on Friday, starting at 6 p.m.
