The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Monday in connection with a July 11 homicide.

Raymond Drew Earl, 18, of Phenix City, is charged with murder.

The victim was shot and killed at a house party in the 800 block of Lee Road 197. Anthony Onochie, 18, of Columbus, was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Just over two weeks later, Lee County investigators, Lee County SWAT, and members of the United States Marshal Service executed a search warrant at Lee Road 706 in Beauregard to take Earl into custody.

He will be held in the Lee County Detention Center without bail, pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.

Earl is considered innocent until proven guilty.
