Monday on "The Rick & Bubba Show," U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) weighed in on President Joe Biden's decision to drop out of the 2024 presidential race and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as his successor.

Carl called the cover-up of Biden's declining health "insulting" and "almost elderly abuse."

"I predicted this three years ago. I saw the decline in his health - of course, his policies made it even worse," Carl stated. "[I]t's sad to watch, but it's also insulting as an American because you see so many people, including Kamala Harris, covering up for him. He's got such a decline in health. It's almost elderly abuse. I've heard that used several times, so I'll use it myself. It's not a good place for this country to be."

"Right now, we're showing our weakness," he continued. "I'm watching more on the world stage than I am what Kamala is going to do or has done, and she is not the nominee. There's a lot of problems there they have to hurdle over, so don't anyone put their money down on Harris yet. There's still some other candidates that want to be president that have a chance.

Carl noted that Harris was "not popular in Washington, D.C." and would get stuck with some of the criticisms of Biden's policies in debates.

Although the South Alabama lawmaker said the Democrats deserve to have their candidate on every state's ballot despite some states already holding their primaries, he noted that Democratic voters had their votes "stripped away."

"You want to talk about an insurrection, you've got one right here," Carl asserted. "The powers to be decided Biden ... couldn't win, so they pushed him into a corner where he had to get out, so here's the true definition of an insurrection."
