The U.S. Senate approved 107 of President Donald Trump’s nominees, including two from Alabama on Tuesday.
Senators voted 51-47 along partisan lines to approve Dr. Brian Christine to be an Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services and Lynda Blanchard to be U.S. Representative to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture, with the rank of ambassador.
Dr. Christine, a Mountain Brook urologist, has been a long-time Trump supporter. His brother, Bobby Christine, is a former Trump-appointed United States Attorney and current District Attorney in Evans, Ga.
Blanchard served as the U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia during Trump’s first term.
