On Thursday, the U.S. Senate will bring U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville's (R-Auburn) Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act to the floor for a vote, his office confirmed with 1819 News.

Earlier this month, Tuberville had openly lamented on "The Megyn Kelly Show" that the GOP-controlled Senate had yet to bring his bill preserving Title IX protections for female athletes to a vote.

Megyn Kelly announced on Wednesday that all GOP senators would be voting in favor of Tuberville's legislation. Seven Democrats would need to vote "yes" to move the bill forward.

"[W]e've got to get people on the record because this is something that is very dear to the heart of all parents across this country, and it's dead wrong," Tuberville told Kelly earlier this month.
