It’s a long way from Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile to the U.S. Capitol. That’s the journey taken by both Barry Moore of Enterprise and Donald Trump.
On August 21, 2015, both men were in the football stadium in Mobile for the very first of Trump’s soon-to-be-famous stadium rallies. It was the beginning of the beginning of the Trump presidential era. It was the day that Trump picked up his first endorsement by a U.S. Senator, Alabama’s Jeff Sessions.
It was the day 30,000 Alabama folks showed up for the first Trump stadium rally even though it had to be hurriedly moved from a smaller venue that would have been overflowed.
It was the day some national media started to realize that the Trump message was resonating with everyday people.
Here is a photo of Trump’s original Alabama Team at the 2015 stadium rally – photo and team organized by then-State Rep. Barry Moore, who represented the Coffee County area in the Alabama House. Moore and wife Heather are in the center. (Full disclosure. The author of this article is in the photo, top left.)
State Reps. Tim Wadsworth (R-Arley) and Jim Carns (R-Vestavia Hills), now Tuberville constituent services staffer Deanna Frankowski and former State Rep. Ed Henry were also on the original team.
What a journey from then to now. Trump will be inaugurated for the second time as President of the United States on Monday, January 20. Barry Moore will be there representing the first congressional district of Alabama.
Since the 2015 start in Mobile, Trump has run three races for president. Moore has run four races for Congress.
Moore, his wife Heather, and their adult children will be there with bells on Monday, January 20, as Trump is sworn in as the 47th president. Moore has already been sworn in as the congressman for Alabama’s first district. Re-districting had moved him out of the Second District that he previously represented for two terms.
The Moore family has a long day planned for Inauguration Day. Here are their plans from Heather Moore:
8:00 am we will report to the Capitol Building. Barry will join his colleagues on the floor. Heather will join the other spouses in the family room on the 3rd floor just across from the family gallery. Their children, along with their spouses, will wait in Barry’s office in the Longworth building until time to line up for security check.
By 11:00 am everyone should be seated for the swearing in. After the ceremony, they plan to walk as a family to Pennsylvania Ave to enjoy the parade. After the parade, the children have dinner reservations and Barry and Heather will get dressed and attend the Liberty Ball. Barry will wear his black tux and bow tie. Heather will wear a long black gown, off the shoulder with a feather trim.
The family is very focused on staying warm for the day’s festivities. Gloves, hats, scarves and some “hot hands” are packed and ready. Along with a MAGA hat or two.
