UAB running back DeWayne McBride made it official on Thursday that he is foregoing the remainder of his college football eligibility to enter the 2023 NFL Draft. McBride opted out of the Blazers’ Bahama Bowl victory over Miami of Ohio.

McBride finished the 2022 regular season as the national leader in rushing yards (1,713) and rushing yards per game (155.7) and second nationally in rushing touchdowns (19). He only played in 11 of the team’s 13 games. He set nine school records, was a member of a pair of All-American teams and the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year.

The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 27-29.
