UAB will hold a press conference at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday to announce the hiring of Trent Dilfer as the school’s head football coach.
Dilfer becomes the school’s seventh head coach, including Bryant Vincent who spent the 2022 season as an interim head coach. Dilfer is in his fourth season at Lipscomb Academy in Nashville. His team plays in the TSSAA II-AAA state championship game against CPA. Lipscomb beat CPA, which is also in Nashville, earlier this season and in the 2021 state title game.
Dilfer is expected to hold a team meeting with UAB players before the press conference.
No official announcement has been made, but Vincent and the current staff are expected to run the Bahamas Bowl preparation and coach in the game.
