An Uber driver in Auburn is on trial for two counts of sexual assault. Testimony this week revealed there is more than one alleged victim.

Prosecutors say Theodore Halls, Jr., 48, raped and sodomized two women in separate incidents in 2020 and 2022, WTVM reports.

Halls was originally arrested in April 2022 for first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual assault. The victim was intoxicated at Skybar, so her friend called an Uber to take her home. The Uber driver picked her up and prosecutors say he took her to the Tuskegee National Forrest, where he raped her. He dropped her off at her home around 3 a.m. and the victim asked a neighbor to call 911.

During the investigation, another alleged victim came forward with a similar story from 2020.

Investigators say Halls tried to lie about the dash cam video showing the two women in the vehicle. He told police the videos were deleted, but the prosecution was able to obtain the videos and present them as evidence.

Hall faces life in prison.

Uber drivers undergo a background check and training to prevent uncomfortable or sexual contact between drivers and riders. Uber also has a "no-sex rule." The company encourages anyone who feels uncomfortable to report issues to Uber.
