Two National Guardsmen were shot on Wednesday afternoon in Washington, D.C.
West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey said on X that he’d received “conflicting reports” on the status of the National Guardsmen who were shot after previously saying they died. One suspect is in custody, according to media reports.
Alabama's federal lawmakers were quick to call for prayers in reaction to the shooting.
U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Huntsville) said, “My prayers are with the guardsmen who were shot in Washington, D.C. today, their families, and their fellow service members.”
