The FBI Mobile confirmed 19 individuals were arrested this week in connection with immigration enforcement actions across Mobile and Baldwin Counties.
During those operations, an unaccompanied alien child was recovered.
At least four of the 19 arrested had prior criminal histories, according to the FBI. Officials did not specify what those crimes were.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Marshals, DEA, Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, Silverhill Police Department, Daphne Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office all assisted in the operations “to make our communities in South Alabama a safer place to live,” the FBI stated.
The group is no longer called the Gulf of America Task Force.
