Crimson Tide vanity license plates will have a new throwback look starting in March 2025.
According to Tallapoosa County Probate Judge Talmadge East, the University of Alabama recently redesigned its vanity license plates to feature the Vault “A” logo from decades ago that was utilized for 25 years.
The added fee for an Alabama vanity license plate is $55. The redesign was announced at a recent meeting hosted by the Alabama Department of Revenue in Prattville and attended by probate judges and their staff.
“The Department (of Revenue) announced at that meeting multiple new car tag designs one of them being the University of Alabama, Miles College, I think, is also being redesigned, as well as Breast Cancer Awareness, Helping Schools, etc,” East told 1819 News on Friday. “Their timeline is supposed to be March of 2025 for the debut date. If you have a custom saying like your name or something on it, then you can keep your current plate with the old design, or you can upgrade if you have a generic plate. If you have a generic plate, you will have the new design.”
