The University of Montevallo and Turning Point USA have rescheduled the "Pick Up the Mic" event featuring Bryan Dawson, founder and CEO of 1819 News, that was previously canceled due to security concerns.
The event will now be held on March 5 on the Farmer's Hall Patio from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
The original event scheduled for February 12 was canceled due to "security concerns," including plans for a campus walkout and threats to Dawson's safety.
A student walkout was held on Thursday, with around two dozen in attendance, chanting, "Postponing is condoning."
